This is really a nice trail. Parking is very convenient to access the trail as well and you can access many retailers and restaurants including a grocery store easily from that trail (if you want to run in and get a quick drink). Plus access to the park on that trail. Plan to come back with my bicycle and bike the trail. Looking forward to the extension up into Newtown.
Some riders do not announce themselves while passing us slower riders - witnessed between Valley Forge and Norristown on 7/22/2025. And often see riders going way too fast in congested areas, one rider yelling at other riders as though he owns the trail, not slowing down. There is a speed limit of 15 miles per hour and often riders are going 25+ MPH. This is not a speedway but rather a trail for enjoyment, for walkers, bikers, in-line skaters, and NOT for an accident waiting to happen!!! If someone is training or going for speed, find a roadway that is more appropriate.
Nice paved surface. Beautiful ride by the river and through wooded sections. For me it's a nice length and you can add on extra miles if you want as it intersects with the SRT and PT. One of the better areas I've ridden.
Path is very well maintained, except for the connector to Prospect Park is a bit worn (you can use the adjacent street). A great stress free route to Coney Island.
I rode today - 7/6/25 - from Oaks about 3/4 of the way to Green Lane Park and back. My first time on this trail in a couple of years. I know there may have been some extra maintenance after storms recently but I found the condition of the trail to be the just about the best that I can ever remember. I ride a mostly road bike which sometimes struggles if the gravel gets too deep or loose in places, but a really smooth and enjoyable ride start to finish today.
Saw the last review on this stating trail was dangerous and in need of maintenance. Was hoping some improvement wouldve been made but the Coopalong is still in tough shape. A lot of trees down with large stretches of the trail covered with overgrown weeds. Id especially avoid the southern half closer to Pittstown.
I rode this trail starting in toms River with my ultimate destination being southern Long Beach Island. This is really more two trails as the first section ends and you need to ride south on route nine for a stretch and pick up the trailhead again. There are many many intersections The total stretch of trail including the route nine portion is about 15 miles and deposits you in Stratford, New Jersey. Easy ride to Long Beach Island although getting on the boulevard is not really bicycle friendly.
I have wanted to come to Sandy Hook for several years, and I am thrilled that I finally did. It’s a lovely ride that includes shore front and leafy glades. Definitely my new favorite ride!
Nice ride from Crystal lake park to the Delaware River. The on-road segment has a sidewalk which we used for safety, although not a lot of traffic. Restrooms at Crystal lake park. . Water was very rusty !!
They connected the two major pieces with an elevated bridge through the meadow park
